Stuff to look at this week

The intense heat of this spring had most of the garden in bloom before summer arrived.  Here is what is in bloom as of this week.

Hydrangea quercifolia 'Pee Wee'. Planted in 2010.

Hydrangea arborescens 'Ryan Gainey'.
This has become one of my favorites in the garden.
Installed in 2008 or 2009.

Hydrangea arborescens 'Bella Anna' installed just a few days ago. 

Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabell' with a lacecap variety in the background.   
Hydrangea paniculata 'Lime Light' (can't see it) is mixed in, too.

One of two in the yard, and the only one doing anything.
Both installed in 2011 with this one blooming the first year.

Garden phlox.  I think last year it bloomed in August. 

Daylilies are in bloom.

Lots and lots of daylilies.
